ZANE'S TRACE BY EARL HASTINGS BEYMER (OHIO, 1890-1975) - Oil on canvas. View of three buckskin-clad gents blazing the trail that was Zane's Trace, and with a Native American cooking in the background. Unframed, 12” high, 16” wide. Beymer was born in Beymerstown (now Old Washington), in Muskingum County. During his life, he created an impressive body of work depicting historical scenes, life in his hometown, and nature, and it includes paintings, carvings, and other mediameter. For his paintings, he typically made the frames as well. This grouping represents the first public offering of Beymer's work. Condition: Good; needs cleaned
