THREE PORTRAIT STUDIES BY SILAS MARTIN (OHIO, 1841-1906) - Oils on artist board, all inscribed on the back. Included are studies of German author Luise Muhlbach (1814-1873), English author and poet and champion of women's rights Eliza Cook (1818-1889), and General George Henry Thomas (1816-1870). All are about 14” high, 12” wide and unframed. These are three of apparently a dozen studies that were presented to the Klippart family. Condition: All with minor damage to the edges.
