PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG MAN - Ohio, mid-19th century, oil on canvas. Small, oval portrait of a young man in a black suit. Original frame. 9” high, 5” wide (sight); 14.75” high, 13” wide (overall). According to tradition, the subject is Darwin E. Gardner (1819-1867) of Marietta, Ohio (though he looks a bit young to fit those dates well). Condition: Frame has a crack along the bottom.
