PORTRAITS OF TWO NEVILLE CHILDREN BY JAMES HENRY BEARD (OHIO, 1811-1893) - Oils on canvas, c. 1857, he is signed lower right. In matching oval frames. 20” high, 15.5” wide (sight); 28.5” high, 24” wide (overall). The children are believed to be Caroline ”Carrie” Neville (b. 1845) and Morgan Lafayette Neville III (1855-1907), the children of Morgan Lafayette Neville Jr. (1811-1855) and Caroline Matilde Dennison (1821-1910). The family lived in Columbus until the 1850s when they relocated to Cincinnati. Condition: Both need cleaned, some craquelure, some frame losses.
