EARL HASTINGS BEYMER (OHIO, 1890-1975): COUNTY FAIR
Oil on canvas, titled "Washington Guernsey County Fair" and signed on the back. View of a fair, with a hot air balloon. In Beymer's original, decorated frame. 21" high, 28.5" wide (overall). Beymer was born in Beymerstown (now Old Washington), in Muskingum County. During his life, he created an impressive body of work depicting historical scenes, life in his hometown, and nature, and it includes paintings, carvings, and other media. For his paintings, he typically made the frames as well. Provenance: private collection
