PROFILE PORTRAIT OF OHIO VALLEY INTEREST - Possibly 19th century. Silhouette of a gentleman, with elaborate inscription identifying the subject as Simon Kenton (1755-1836), ”skillful pioneer” and ”brave soldier” and that the image was made in 1812, when Kenton was 57. In an oval frame, 10.5” high, 8.5” wide (overall). This silhouette may be 19th century, but almost certainly later 19th century and a revival piece. Condition: Toned and water stained.
