EDGAR TOLSON (KENTUCKY, 1904-1984) - Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, 1970s, basswood on a poplar base. Classic Tolson carving of Adam and Eve, with the painted snake in the apple tree. Not signed, but inscribed on the underside ”James Earl Perry” and ”James Edmund Tolson” in the same hand. 11” high.James Edmund Tolson is the son of Edgar and Hulda King Tolson. Born 1950, died 2014. James Earl Perry lived in Wolfe County also. He was born in 1950 too, so perhaps was a friend of the younger Tolson. Condition: Original surface, missing two apples, a stable crack in one of the lower branches.
