FRAMED PHOTOSGRAPH OF STEAMSHIP VIRGINIAN - This a photograph of the Virginian was built in 1904 by Alexander Stephen & Sons in Glasgow, Scotland, for the Allan Line.. The RMS Virginian was a pioneering steam-turbine ocean liner that later served as a World War I armed merchant cruiser and a notable World War II repatriation mercy ship. The frame measures approximately 18.5” H x 32.5” W x 1” D. On April 15, 1912, the Virginian received the Titanic's distress call and steamed toward the site before learning the RMS Carpathia was closer.
