FRAME PHOTOGRAPH OF THE SS MINNESOTAN - The SS Minnesotan was steam boat built in 1912 by Maryland Steel Co. in Sparrows Point, Maryland for the American Hawaiian Steamship Co.. The ships services include: chartered by the U.S. Army in 1917 as USAT Minnesotan to transport animals and equipment to France, commissioned into the U.S. Navy in August 1918 as USS Minnesotan (ID-4545), carrying troops and transatlantic cargo and in World War ll operated in transatlantic and Indian Ocean supply convoys. Eventually it was sold to Italy in 1949, renamed SS Maria Luisa R., and eventually scrapped in Bari, Italy in 1952. The frame measures approximately 19.5” H x 26.5” W x 1” D.
