COLT MODEL 1851 NAVY REVOLVER, .36 CAL - A Colt Model 1851 Navy .36 caliber cap-and-ball percussion revolver with a true serial number of 154948, dating the manufacturing to the year 1863. The revolver has multiple other serial numbers on different parts. The left side of the frame has an engraving ”COLTS PATENT” and right above the trigger is engraved ”36 CAL”. The revolver has a barrel length of 7.5” and in total measures approximately 13” H x 1.5” W x 5” D.  This Colt revolver also includes scans of handwritten letters dating to 1921, describing a murder that had taken place that allegedly was committed with this revolver.  This item is a black powder revolver and does not need a background check with an FFL.
