WILLIAM SHEW AMBROTYPE OF A WOMAN IN BLACK - A William Shew (Boston, MA) 1/6th plate wooden and leather case in a floral pattern containing an ambrotype of an older woman likely in mourning, circa 1840s.  William Shew (1820–1903) was a prominent American pioneer photographer and early manufacturer of miniature daguerreotype cases in Boston during the 1840s.
