MEYER STRAUS 'RIVERSIDE LANDSCAPE' OIL PAINTING
Original riverside landscape oil painting on canvas by listed artist, Meyer Straus (1831 - 1905), signed lower right. Art measures 19.5" h x 35.5" w presented in a frame measuring 30" x 46".
Artist bio: An accomplished oil painter, his oeuvre includes still lifes of fruit and flowers, missions, figure and interior studies, and his forte, landscapes of northern California.
Member: Bohemian Club; San Francisco Art Ass'n.
Exhibited: New Orleans Expo, 1885 (honorable mention); California State Fair, 1891 (medal); San Francisco Art Ass'n; Mechanics' Institute Fairs; Bohemian Club. Works held: Nevada Museum; California Historical Society; Oakland Museum; Society of California Pioneers.
