SPECTACULAR J & JW MEEKS PARLOR SET - Circa 1859-1860 Rococo four-piece parlor seating set in the Hawkins pattern. Set consists of settee (50½” tall x 66” long x 34” deep), armchair (46½” tall x 26½” wide x 32” deep), and two side chairs (42” tall x 19½” wide x 25” deep). The matching parlor table is being sold separately in the next lot. The wood on all pieces appears to be in very nice overall condition. Settee shows some fraying to the front edge of silk seat and on the arms. Chairs are on the original casters. The set was originally built and shipped to the Westover Family of Bay City, MI by Meeks personally on a steamship on Lake Huron.
