PENNSYLVANIA PAINTED CORNER CABINET - Antique Pennsylvania painted corner cupboard, circa first-half 1800s, features red and mustard finish and green interior with original wavy glass. 79-1/2” tall, 51” wide and 25” deep.7/11/23 newly discovered document and photos pertaining to the restoration of this beautiful piece has been added to the condition report as well as three photos of the process. Cleaned overpaint to expose original. 1. Removed A. Cream colored enamel over B. Mustard enamel over C. Varnish graining over D. Gray milk, ground paint E. Steel blue milk paint over F. Brown/ red varnish over G. Brown shellac graining over H. Cream/ yellow milk ground over I. Darkened shellac over J. Original colors 2. Removed from top interior a. White enamel over b. Cream milk paint over c. Pale blue/ green over d. Orange primer 3. Removed from bottom interior a. White enamel over b. Cream milk paint 4. Glazed remaining yellow paint 5. Glazed remaining Prussian trim 6. Replaced missing brass to pears with original 7. Repair lock/ make temp key 8. Repaint top interior to match original
