A COLLECTION OF CHINESE AND JAPANESE STONEWARE AND PORCELAIN BOWLS IN SIZES. Including: a flared conical Ge-type crackle-glazed bowl, a Japanese raku flared footed teabowl, decorated in brown slip with animals and flowers, probably Edo period, a footed cup in raku glaze, decorated with black dots, signed to base, a ribbed footed celadon cup, two 19th century Chinese celadon cups and other items (8)
Provenance: Property of a Sussex gentleman
Condition: The Japanese raku glazed teabowl, possibly Edo, with some glaze chipping. The raku glazed footed cup with slight chipping to glaze at rim. Small brown glazed cup with blue calligraphy, with small chips to rim. Impressed mark to base. The crackle glazed bowl with some fine crazing to glaze issuing from the deeper crackle glaze. The ribbed footed sake cup with some stained crazing overall and some hairline cracks. One of the Chinese celadon cups with slight rim chipping.
