A family of bronze caster artists in Kyoto, dating back to the 16th century to the present day. It was only from the 9th generation that the name of Kanaya was added to Gorosaburo. In the 20th century they were renowned for working in yellow bronze with a rich brown patina. Particularly prolific, Gorosaburo is present in several international museums including the National Victoria of Melbourne and the Rijskmuséeum (Amsterdam).
