A PAIR OF CHINESE LATE QING DYNASTY BLACK AND RED LACQUER DEMI-LUNE CONSOLE TABLES. Each enriched in gilding and carved with a frieze of figures before pavilions, stylised dragons and fretwork within Key and cloud pattern borders, with fretwork aprons, raised on three claw and ball feet, 81cm high x 103cm wide x 50cm deep (2)
Some damages and losses to the fretwork panels at front and side of one of the tables (some of the damaged parts are detached but present and require restoration). Both with some scratching to black lacquered top and general wear to surface overall. One of the tables has holes to the back and two joints which suggest that this may have been a larger dining table with separate additional leaves although there are no corresponding holes/joints to the back of the other table.
