Ford Sunliner 1955/56 Tin Car by Bandai - Representing an interesting blend of 1955 and 1956 styling, this Bandai Ford Sunliner Convertible reflects the way Japanese manufacturers often based toys on magazine advertisements, concept artwork, and artistic interpretation rather than production automobiles. The trim resembles a Ford Customline, while the convertible body and box depict a Fairlane, with even a 1957 illustration adding to the confusion. The interior is detailed in tan, aqua, black, and cream and features folding front seats. The trunk opens properly, and the hinges support it as intended. The friction mechanism was tested during cataloging and found to be in working condition. The original tires and rims remain intact, and the bottom plate is near mint. Overall, the toy appears to be new old stock with only a minor trunk closure mark. An expertly reproduced box accompanies the toy. It measures approximately 12” L. Condition: EXCELLENT
