La tela trova un confronto attributivo nell’opera con medesimo soggetto conservata nella chiesa di S. Maria del Carmine a Milano. Va segnalata una teoria attributiva di ambito collezionistico, suffragata da pareri critici, che in relazione a talune fisionomie vedono l’opera iscriversi nella cerchia di Pietro della Vecchia. Molto probabilmente si tratta di una tela realizzata nelle provincie occidentali lombarde della Serenissima, da un autore colto e in grado di creare un’originale sintesi tra le due idee esposte.

The canvas finds an attributive comparison in the artwork with the same subject preserved in Milan, in the church of S. Maria del Carmine. It should be noted an attribution theory from the collecting field, supported by critical opinions, that see the artwork inscribed in the circle of Pietro della Vecchia, in relation to certain physiognomies. Most likely, it is a canvas made in the western provinces of Lombardy, in the Serenissima territories, by a cultured author who was able to create an original synthesis between the two ideas on display.
