Marvel ”Sensational She-Hulk” #40 Jump Rope Cover - Marvel Comics. Copper Age ”The Sensational She-Hulk” comic book, key issue no. 40, 1992. Written by John Byrne. Artwork by John Byrne. Featuring the historic ”jump rope” cover gimmick. The issue is famous for its racy, tongue-in-cheek satire of comic book objectification. The cover depicts She-Hulk clutching a large ”Approved by the Comics Code Authority” stamp to block her chest, while the first few story pages feature her jumping rope apparently entirely in the nude, obscured only by horizontal motion lines. In a classic fourth-wall-breaking gag, she aggressively breaks character to yell at the creators and editors for utilizing a cheap, risque sales ploy. Height: 10 1/4 in x width: 6 3/4 in. Condition: All pages are present and accounted for. There are no tears, losses, or signs of repair. Very light wear along the extreme edges. There is a green distributor stripe along the upper edge, inherent to the distribution process. The comic is bagged and boarded.
