4 ”Captain Marvel” Silver Age Comic Books No. 1-4 - Marvel Comics. Run of four issues ”Captain Marvel”, no. 1-4, 1968. Written by Roy Thomas. Artwork by Gene Colan. Featuring major key premier issue no. 1 anchoring the debut of Captain Marvel's standalone solo series (Comic books, each) Height: 10 1/4 in x width: 6 3/4 in. Condition: (Issue #1) All pages are present and accounted for. The pages are toned. There is a large tideline and area of soiling to the upper third of each page within the comic. Pages 8-18 are no longer bound by the lower staple. There is a small tear to the upper left corner of all pages, measuring approximately 1/4 inch. Gripper holes or chips along the lower margins of the pages. Wear including some creases along the extreme edges, corners, and spine of the comic. There are two small tears connected by a horizontal crease and a diagonal crease along the lower edge of the front cover. Three small tears to the upper edge of the back cover (Issue #2) All pages are present and accounted for. The pages are toned. There are acidic tape repairs and tears to the stapled regions of the binding; heavy toning to the repaired regions along the interior. The four pages at the center of the text are detached from the volume. There are no other large tears or losses to the pages; there are light minute tears and pinholes along the lower margins; given the consistency of the location of these regions among the pages, it is possibly they are inherent to the production process. There are small creases to the lower right corner and upper edge of the front cover. Small tear to the edge of the back cover. (Issue #3) All pages are present and accounted for. There is a small loss measuring approximately 1/4 inch along the upper edge of the title page. Soiling to the upper third, particularly along the right quadrant, of all pages. Creases along the corners of the front cover. Wear to the staples. (Issue #4) All pages are present and accounted for. The pages are toned. There are two small losses to the lower right corner of the pages along the center of the text; given the consistent location of these regions, it is possible that they are inherent to the production process. There are no large tears. Light creases along the corners of the covers. (Issues #1-#4) All comics are bagged and boarded.
