KOLLEL AHAVAS TZION – SIEBENBURGEN, LETTER WITH SIGNATURES OF LEADING RABBIS. An emotional appeal letter dated 1950, and sent to Rabbi Tzvi Yaakov Abraham by Kollel Ahavas Tzion – Siebenburgen, asking him to show compassion to the 300 families – who included widows and orphans, refugees and Torah scholars dependent on the Kollel - whose homes had been destroyed together with all their possessions, in the recent war, leaving them homeless and destitute. ‘The small amount of money received from America twice a year, only amounts to half a Lira per person!’ The letter is signed by Rabbi David Sperber of Brasso (signed twice), Rabbi Yehoshua Deutsch of Katamon, Rabbi Tzvi Kinstlicher of Hermanstadt, Rabbi Chaim Eliyahu Steinberg and Rabbi Yechiel Yaakov Lichtenstein. 1 side. 21 x 28 cm.
