HANDWRITTEN SIGNED HALACHIC LETTER BY RABBI SHMUEL WOSNER, AUTHOR OF SHEVET HALEVY. Letter from Rabbi Shmuel Wosner, noted halachic authority and Rabbi of Zichron Meir, Bnei Brak, discussing the laws of Mishloach Manos. Rabbi Shmuel Wosner (1913-2015), born in Vienna and studied under Rabbi Shmuel David Ungar of Nitra and Rabbi Yosef Elimelech Cahana of Ungvar, before proceeding to Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin, where he became a close disciple of Rabbi Meir Shapira and Rabbi Shimon of Zhelichov. After marrying in Pressburg, he settled in Eretz Yisrael in 1939 and continued his rabbinical studies under Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Duschinsky and Rabbi Shimshon Ahron Polonsky of Teplik. In 1947, he settled in Bnei Brak at the suggestion of the Chazon Ish and became Rabbi of the Zichron Meir neighbourhood. He established Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin as well as a Beis Hora’ah and Beth Din and became one of the most widely recognised contemporary halachic authorities. His eleven-volume collection of responsa Shevet Halevy includes decisions on many halachic questions related to technological and medical developments, as well as all other areas of Jewish Law. He is also the author of other published works, including Derashos and Talmud novellae. 2 sides. 14 x 20 cm. Very good condition.
