RABBI ISSER ZALMAN MELTZER, HANDWRTTEN SIGNED LETTER TO RABBI NACHMAN SHLOMO GREENSPAN, RABBI OF LEEDS. Letter written by Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer to Rabbi Nachman Shlomo Greenspan, Rabbi of Leeds and later Rosh Yeshiva of Etz Chaim in London. Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer (1870-1953), studied in the Yeshivos of Mir, Volozhin and Radin, and became a close disciple of Rabbi Nassan Tzvi Finkel – the ‘Alter’ of Slabodka, who sent him as head of a group who established a Yeshiva in Slutzk, of which he later became Rosh Yeshiva. The Yeshiva later moved to Kletzk. He later settled in Yerushalayim where he headed Yeshivas Etz Chaim from 1925. Author of Even Ha’azel and other works. Leading rabbinical authority. Rabbi Nachman Shlomo Greenspan (1880-1961), a disciple of the Ridvaz of Slutzk and of the Avnei Nezer of Sochatchov. Moved to Antwerp, Leeds and London where he served as Rosh Yeshiva, appointed Rosh Yeshivas Etz Chaim in 1930. Author of Meleches Machsheves and other works. Postcard. Very good condition.
