Long three-side responsum, dated 1848, discussing the laws of Pidyon Haben. The responsum addresses Rabbi Yisrael David Margulies – Yafe in highly complimentary terms and displays the writer’s great Torah knowledge. Rabbi David Katz – Bistritz (1813-1864), a favoured disciple of the Chassam Sofer. Son-in-law of Rabbi Shimon Mandel of Senica. Rabbi of Milchdorf (1849) and author of Beis David on Yoreh Deah. Rabbi Yisrael David Margulies – Yafe (1802-1864), a disciple of the Chassam Sofer. Dayan in Senica and Rabbi of Bösing. Staunch fighter against reformist tendencies and author of Mecholas Hamachanayim and Har Tavor, against changes to the traditional layout of the synagogue. 3 sides. 19 x 23 cm. Good condition.
