A Meissen Porcelain Painted Plate, ”The Penitent Magdalene” - A Meissen Porcelain Painted Plate, ”The Penitent Magdalene”   The central hand painted decoration after the work of Pomeo Batoni, the plate with bands of blue and cream bordered by gilt geometric and foliate motifs. The plate is marked at the underside with an underglaze blue crossed sword and ”4” mark, with an incised ”13” mark, and with what appears to be a decorators mark ”C.3.W.”    Dimensions:  the diameter of the plate is 9 3/8in    Provenance: From a Yardley, PA collection. Condition: Minor surface wear including abrasions, otherwise is in good condition with not rim chips or hairline cracks.
