Paul Evans (1931-1987), Pewter Ashtray, c. 1955-1960 - Paul Evans (1931-1987), Pewter Ashtray, c. 1955-1960   Navette form, marked on the underside ”DESIGNERS INC./ PAUL EVANS”   Dimensions : 8 1/2 in. x 7 in., 2 in. high   Designers Inc. was a brief collaboration between Paul Evans and fellow designer and craftsman Phillip Lloyd Powell, whose studio Evans shared when he returned to Bucks County, Pennsylvania, from Old Sturbridge Village in 1955.  Another example, from the collection of Dorsey Reading, was sold, Rago, 12 April 2008, lot 136. Condition: In good overall condition with minor scattered scratches.  Small shallow gouge to edge.
