A Collection of Cased/Framed 19th Century Photographs - A Collection of Cased/Framed 19th Century Photographs Mid to late 19th century, various format photographs, comprising thirty-four total examples, most in tooled leather bound cases, eight in 'union' cases: one in a plastic frame, and one locket housing a lock of hair, notable subjects include: three couples and one one family portrait, a portrait of a barber, a portrait of a musician, a 'union' case with a decorative vignette of a woman, child and dog, a portrait of a lawyer in a parcel gilt 'union' case, a case with a Union themed copper liner, some of the cases marked for various cities including: Philadelphia, Troy, and Brooklyn. Dimensions: the cases from 1 3/4in in diameter to 4 1/2 to 3 5/8in Provenance: From a Princeton, NJ estate. Condition: Some of the case bindings have deteriorated, the plastic examples with scattered cracking from age and some losses including a loss to the example with dog and family vignette, overall expected surface wear across the lot as pictured.
