A Sheraton Birdseye Maple Bed, Second Quarter 19th Century
In nine parts, the highly figured paneled headboard with scrolled ears and and turned crest with acorn finials. The turned tapered posts with mushroom tops. Each of the posts and rails are fastened together by carved wooden threads.
Dimensions: Height 73 1/4in; width 54 1/2in; length 78 1/4in; interior dimensions approximately 72 x 47 1/2in.
Condition:
Several of the wooden threads do not hold together tightly and will require reinforcements and additional brackets to achieve total durability and no movement. In an overall refinished condition. General marks, wear, nicks, abrasions and surface scratches throughout.
