George III Mahogany Linen Press, Fourth Quarter 18th Century - A George III Mahogany Linen Press, Fourth Quarter 18th Century. The upper section with concave molded cornice over a pair of raised paneled doors, enclosing five dovetailed linen slides, the lower section fitted with two short over two long drawers above a base molding, raised on bracket feet. Dimensions: Height 76 3/4in; width 49 1/4in; depth 24 1/4in. Provenance: Property from the Collection of an English Gentleman. Condition: Structurally sound. Mellow surface, retaining an old finish. Left side of cornice molding appears to be an old replacement. General marks, wear, nicks, abrasions and surface scratches. Small losses to cock beading. left side of base molding and foot facing has been re-glued. Shrinkage and minor age cracks throughout. Replaced hardware. No keys.
