A Sterling Silver Flatware Service, London 1863 - A Sterling Silver Flatware Service, London 1863. Hallmarked for London, the maker George William Adams and dated for 1863. Each terminal with an egg and dart edge and centered by a scrolled cartouche.  Comprising: twelve 8 1/2in forks, twelve 7in forks, twelve 7in spoons, twelve 9in tablespoons, twelve 6in teaspoons, one 5 1/2in spoon with tines, one 5 3/4in sugar shell, four 4 1/2in master salt spoons, one 14in punch ladle, one 12in stuffing spoon, one 7 1/2in gravy ladle. The pieces with stainless steel blades and loaded handles are: twelve 10 1/2in knives, twelve 9in knives, and a two piece fish set (10in and 13in long). The lot also includes an American 15in sterling ladle.    Dimensions: the total approximate weight of the all sterling pieces is 173 ozt.  Provenance: Property from a Philadelphia Main Line Collection. Condition: Overall very good condition with some expected wear.
