Edwardian Paint Decorated Satinwood Settee in the Adam Style - An Edwardian Polychrome Paint Decorated Satinwood and Caned Settee in the Adam Style, Circa 1900. Trompe l'oeil painted crest rail above three tracery pierced splats decorated with Neoclassical motifs and reserves with Classical figures. Dimensions: Height 34 3/4in; width 52 1/2in; depth of seat 17 3/4in; seat height 16 1/2in. Provenance: Property from a Philadelphia Main Line Collection. Condition: Structurally sound. Retaining an old surface. The caned seat is in overall good condition. Typical marks, wear, rubbing and losses to painted surface overall. Minor glued repairs, in-painting and touch-up to some areas.
