George III Fret Carved Mahogany Fold Top Games Table, 18th Century - A George III Fret Carved Mahogany Fold Top Games Table, Second Half 18th Century. The rectangular inverted breakfront top above a pierced fret carved conforming deep frieze, raised on straight square legs with inner chamfering. Oak and pine secondary wood. Dimensions: Height 28 3/4in; width 31 3/4in; depth closed15 1/4in; depth open 30 1/4in. Provenance: Property from a Philadelphia Main Line Collection. Condition: Structurally sound. Warm color overall. The top with typical marks, wear, nicks, abrasions and old staining. Minor lifting to veneer on right side of table. Minor old restorations to veneers. There are two veneer losses to the front frieze. Evidence of old wood worm.
