George III Inlaid Mahogany Stick Barometer, Josh Somalvico and Co, London - A George III Inlaid Mahogany Stick Barometer, Josh Somalvico and Co, London, First Quarter 19th Century. The rectangular silvered dial fitted with a subsidiary thermometer. The dial incised 'Josh Somalvico & Co. / No. 81 Holborn / LONDON'. Dimensions: Height 36 3/2in; width 10 1/4in; depth 2 1/4in. Provenance: Property from a Philadelphia Main Line Collection. Condition: In an overall good restored condition. With general marks and wear to the case. Repainted terminals to the broken arch. The glass tube possibly replaced. Otherwise appears to be in generally good condition. The mercury is still present. We cannot guarantee the workability and accuracy of this instrument.
