A 19th Century Mantel Clock, Timby's Solar Timepiece
A c. 1863-65 Timby's Solar Time Piece mantel clock with a mechanically rotating Joslin's Globe, manufactured by L. E. Whiting Saratoga Springs N.Y, No. 236 of approximately 500 made, the eight-day movement housed in a walnut case and comes with the original carrying case and paperwork.
Dimensions: The clock is 26" tall x 15" wide x 5 1/2" deep.
Provenance: Property from a New Hope, Pennsylvania Collection.
Condition:
Overall good condition, the globe has minimal losses with some foxing, the glass and wood on the lower panel is cracked, and it is missing the lower minute wheel, other eras of minor loss and wear as pictured, the movement does not currently run.
