George II Style Carved Walnut Open Armchair - A George II Style Carved Walnut Open Armchair, Early 20th Century. The shaped crest carved with eagles and pierced beaks with drapery and tassels, the feathers continue to shaped stiles flanking a solid splat with carved acanthus leaves and scrolls, above an upholstered slip seat, raised on cabriole legs with acanthus carved knees, terminating in claw-and-ball feet to the front and cabriole legs with pad feet to the rear. Dimensions: Height 38 3/4in; width 26in; depth of seat 17in; seat height 19in. Provenance: Property from a Bucks County, Pennsylvania Estate. Condition: Structurally sound. In an overall refinished condition. Typical marks, wear nicks and surface scratches; heaviest to the legs and feet. One front foot with a break and loss to talon on back of foot holding the ball.
