New England Queen Anne Tiger Maple Highboy, 18th Century - A New England Queen Anne Tiger Maple Highboy, 18th Century. The upper section with applied crown molding above two short over three long graduated drawers, the lower section with one long over three small drawers and deeply shaped apron, raised on cabriole legs, terminating in shoed pad feet. Chestnut, pine and poplar secondary woods. Dimensions: Height 70 3/4in; width 39 1/4in; depth 21 1/4in. Provenance: Property from a Bucks County, Pennsylvania Estate. Condition: Structurally sound. With extensive, repairs, rebuilding and replacements throughout. The surface has been skinned; with heavy wear, losses, breaks, repairs and evidence of old wood worm throughout. The brass hardware is replaced throughout with secondary holes to drawer fronts. Scattered breaks, repairs and patches to drawer lips. Typical marks, wear, nicks and surface scratches. Shrinkage and age cracks to sides of case.
