Four Sheraton Tiger Maple Chairs and a Painted Chair - An Assembled Group of Four Sheraton Tiger Maple Side Chairs, First Quarter 19th Century. Comprising a pair with caned seats; one with a rush seat; and one with no seat. Together with a similar paint-decorated compass rush seat chair. Dimensions: Heights approximately 35 1/4in; width 17 1/2in; depth of seat 15 1/4in; seat height 17 3/4in. Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey. Condition: Structurally sound. General marks, wear, nicks, abrasions and surface scratches. One chair lacking a rush seat. The rush seat to the painted chair with minor wear and loss. One cane seat chair with an old repair where the stile meets the crest rail. Another cane seat chair with reinforcements where the seat rails meet the stiles and legs.
