This technique was traditionally worked in Chintz fabrics and gained its height of popularity in the United states in the late 18th-early 19th century and earlier in Europe during the 17th century. Broderie Perse likely made its way from India where much of the chintz fabric was printed. Condition: Wear commensurate with age and use. In overall good condition, minor discolorations.
