Portrait of a Young Boy and Dog, Oil on Canvas, English School - English School, dated 1791.  A portrait of William Bradney (b. 1775)  and his dog with the Penn Hall Estate (his home) in the background.  The young boy and dog seated beneath the shade tree. The name of the sitter and the year 1791 located at the dog's collar. In a period carved giltwood frame. Dimensions: 28 1/4 x 24 1/4in; Frame 35 1/4 x 31 1/4in. Provenance:  Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey. Condition: Professionally restored: cleaned, relined and attached to a new stretcher. Examined under UV light. There is minor touch-up to background in tree and along edges that fluoresces. There is no apparent touch-up to the figure, dog or house when examined under UV light. Wear, nicks, abrasions, surface scratches and small losses to the frame.
