English Staffordshire Pearlware Figure: Andromache - An English Staffordshire Pearlware Figure: Andromache, Circa 1800-1810. The figural group depicting a polychrome hand-painted figure of Andromache, modeled mourning and clutching an urn on pedestal (containing her husband's ashes),  raised on a rectangular base. In Greek Mythology, Andromache husband Hector was killed by Achilles in the Trojan War. Dimensions: Height 10 1/4in; width 4 1/2in; depth 3 1/4in. Condition: Under UV light, there is no fluorescence. Typical dust accumulation to crevices, small flake loss to figures cheek, otherwise very good condition; wear commensurate with age and use.
