Aesthetic Movement?Japanese Lacquer and Bamboo Chest - An English Aesthetic Movement Japanese Lacquer and Bamboo Chest of Drawers, Late 19th Century. The rectangular top over two short and two long drawers, surmounted by a beveled dressing mirror. Dimensions: Height 65in; width 37in; depth 19in. Provenance: Property from a Bucks County, Pennsylvania Collection. Condition: The mirror is loose in its frame and needs to be secured tightly into frame. The superstructure with mirror is removable. Heavy wear, flaking, buckling and losses to lacquered surface. General fading, wear and surface dirt accumulation overall. heavy dust accumulation to top along bamboo molded edges. Hardware with heavy toning, some hardware replaced. No keys.
