Two Salt Glazed Stoneware Crocks
Two American salt glazed stoneware crocks, 19th century, comprising a 1 gallon jar with cobalt blue slip-trailed decoration and a 1/2 gallon cake crock with cobalt blue brushed decoration and stamped "1/2", with associated stoneware lid.
Dimensions:Height of 1 gallon jar 9 1/4in; diameter 7 1/2in; height of cake crock 5in; diameter 7 3/4in.
Condition: Each with typical imperfections from firing and glazing.The jar with heavy discoloration throughout, hairlines to the underside on foot, a small chip loss to the rim and some abrasions. The cake crock with scattered flake losses to the rim, interior and exterior of body. the lid with a small fleabite loss.
