Nathaniel Currier (American, 1813-1888) and James Merritt Ives (American, 1824-1895) The Road, Winter, lithograph, hand colored lithograph on wove paper published by Currier & Ives in 1853, large folio; after original drawing by Otto Knirsch, illustrating a couple in a double horse drawn sleigh moving swiftly across a winter landscape. An image that has been repeated many times over more than a century on seasonal greeting cards. Framed and glazed.
Dimensions:Sight 20 1/4 x 28 1/2in; frame 22 1/2 x 30 1/2in.
Condition: Toned, scattered foxing and spotting, appears heaviest to margins. Not inspected outside of frame.
