The scene depicts a young postillion in a navy blue coat and black top hat blowing a post horn while seated on a yellow horse-drawn stagecoach carrying two suitcases. The base is accented with small hand-painted floral details. The top of the base features an incised signature reading M.J. Hummel. The underside bears a blue underglaze stamp consisting of a copyright symbol, a large V containing a small bee, and the text Goebel W. Germany.
