Meiji and Taisho Japanese Document Collection - Japanese Meiji and Taisho era document collection, comprising land title deeds and banking ephemera. Printed on paper with ornate lithographed borders in rust-red, brown, and pale blue-green. The land deeds, identified by the header (Chiken), were issued by the Empire of Japan Government for the administrative regions of Yamagata Prefecture and Chiba Prefecture. Dated examples include Meiji 10 (1877), Meiji 13 (1880), and Meiji 16 (1883). The collection includes a blue-printed prospectus for Seiryu Bank, Ltd. dated Taisho 9 (1920) regarding a new share subscription, and a small handwritten document on lined paper.
