Chinese Imperial Decree Silk Hanging Scroll with Seals - Chinese Qing Dynasty Imperial decree hanging scroll executed on imperial yellow silk with an underlying woven pattern of five-clawed dragons chasing flaming pearls amidst stylized clouds. The document features bilingual text in black ink, comprising traditional Chinese regular script and vertical Manchu script. The top mounting consists of a decorative silk brocade panel with a paper label reading Xianfeng Huangdi Yupi Shengzhi. The main text opens with the standard formula Feng tian cheng yun huang di zhi yue. The document is dated at the conclusion of the Chinese section to the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month of the 2nd year of the Xianfeng reign, corresponding to approximately 1852. Multiple large square vermilion seals in bilingual script are applied over the text. The scroll is mounted on a paper backing and finished with dark-toned wooden roller ends.
