A Two-Piece Lot of EAPG Hobbs Brockunier Compote and Handled Plate - A two-piece lot of Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG) tableware rendered in a pale pink or blush amethyst hue. The collection includes a pedestal compote and a handled decorative plate. The compote is identified as the 'Little Samuel Tree of Life' pattern, typically attributed to Hobbs, Brockunier & Co. The form is consistent with the base of an epergne without the finial. It features a wide bowl with a scalloped rim and a heavy, overall textured pattern, supported by a figural stem molded as a young boy (Little Samuel) resting atop a tiered octagonal base. The second item is an EAPG handled plate, identified as the 'Elaine' pattern. This shallow tray is molded with a prominent central relief scene depicting a standing female figure, possibly a pioneer or peasant, surrounded by dense foliage. The wide border is accented by geometric and stylized floral patterns. Both items exhibit characteristics typical of molded glassware. Measurement is for largest item.
