Japanese Showa Period, Ink and Pigments on Silk Hanging Scroll, Peonies, Signed - Japanese Showa period hanging scroll in ink and color on silk, depicting a study of blooming peonies. The composition features two large blossoms in pale pink and white washes with fine line work, set against green foliage and a single red bud. A hand-painted black signature at the lower right reads Shutei, positioned next to the artist's square red intaglio seal. The scroll is mounted with blue-grey silk featuring a repeating hexagonal floral pattern and cream-pink silk damask. Includes dark-stained wooden roller ends and a hanging cord.
