Regina 15.5 Inch Music Box Discs Dixies Land Souvenir DAmour - This lot features a pair of antique 15.5-inch perforated steel music box discs manufactured by the Regina Music Box Company of Jersey City, New Jersey. These discs were engineered for use with Regina's standard 15.5-inch music box models, which were the industry benchmark for domestic automata in the late 19th century. The first disc, Tune Number 1226, is titled Dixie's Land and includes a copyright notice for the Oliver Ditson Company. It is inscribed with the Regina trademark, a Patented banner, and patent dates of December 13, 1889, and June 27, 1893. The second disc, Tune Number 1278, features Souvenir D'Amour, Waltz by Foerster. This disc displays the Regina logo, a Beginning indicator, and a series of patent numbers ranging from 500371 through 500374. Both discs are constructed from heavy-gauge perforated steel with a zinc or nickel plating, featuring the characteristic outer drive holes and underside projections designed to engage the music box star wheel mechanism.
